Job Description:

The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) demonstrates and promotes 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for individuals served and direct and indirect supports.
The BCaBA will meet and engage parents of children who are experiencing potential developmental delays in their homes.
The BCaBA will identify and utilize screening measures to identify delays, lead to possible intervention plans, and recommend diagnostic testing as needed
The BCaBA will conduct functional assessments.
The BCaBA will analyze available data to help determine where, when, and why problem behaviors occur.
The BCaBA will provide brief treatment and linkage to ongoing services or in some cases may provide more intensive treatment including developing ABA plans and training family members and supports on the implementation of the plan.
The BCBA will supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
The BCaBA ensures respect for each person s and his/her family s life choices and individuality, facilitating quality outcomes for the people served and the community.
The BCaBA will provide training to the behavior clinician team, Direct Support Professionals, and other agency staff on the principles and implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis.
The BCaBA will promote team work across all disciplines.
The BCaBA will collaborate closely with our Psychiatrists who serve the I/DD clients.
The BCaBA will model behavior modification strategies using the BSP to support the I/DD clients in the IRAs.
The BCaBA will develop data collection tools within the IRAs to track progress of behavior change.
The BCaBA will respond to Mobile Mental Health/Urgent care referrals as needed.
The BCaBA will assist with community outreach and staff trainings.
The BCaBA will report to and work closely with the BCBA/LBA.

In this position, the BCaBA will also have the following major responsibilities:

Obtain, review and analyze behavior data regularly and make recommendations based on data
Work to reduce stigma


Effective communication
Possess excellent relationship building skills, as well as, organizational and planning skills
Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team including leadership teams.
Possess sensitivity to the service population s cultural and socio-economic characteristics
Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently
Ability to work independently
Computer literacy
Must maintain current license/certification/training
Possess a valid driver s license, work eligibility status and have an excellent driving record
Familiarity with OPWDD and OMH systems and eligibility requirements
2-3 years of experience conducting comprehensive functional assessments required


A Bachelor s degree and a BCaBA certificate required.
Certified Behavior Analyst Assistant Licensure through New York State preferred
