TheHireWorks is looking for a Maintenance Technician with an Electrical background to join the facilities maintenance team of a well-established client. The post-holder will have extensive knowledge of electrical sector in terms of planned and reactive maintenance as well as installation knowledge. Working directly under the Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Institute. Duties will be varied with the majority being minor install and modifications of building services and the equipment used. The successful candidate will be asked to work in all areas including laboratories, plant rooms, controlled environments and also glasshouses. The candidate will be expected to work as both a team player and also be able to work on their own when required. This is a varied role, and it is considered essential that the post-holder has a wide range of electrical and mechanical knowledge as you will be needed to give advice to the facilities manager on to plan and implement work, which includes cost-estimating and feasibility studies. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned maintenance as well as being reactive to any tasks that come in day-to-day Installation of electrical services Be able to setup equipment for conferences and lectures Provide assistance to Facilities Manager Provide assistance to Facilities Supervisor Supervision of on-site contractors Adherence to current and any future H&S regulations You must have: BSth Edition NVQ or equivalent Level 2 or higher in an appropriate field of knowledge Current and workable knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Outlook etc) Good Team player skills Communication skills Experience in working in a similar field Ability to fault find and the correct course of action to rectify any faults found. Benefits package: Salary of up to £31,500 DOE Full-time of 36.5 hours a week Holiday of 36 days pro rata (including bank holidays) Pension scheme of an employer contributory 5% after probationary period of 6 months.
