CV's will not be accepted, please visit Failte Ireland website for the Application form Job Purpose To undertake environmental assessments and monitoring of tourism plans and strategies and ensure adherence to environmental regulatory requirements in the sustainable development of Fáilte Ireland Regional Tourism Brands (Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland's Ancient East, Ireland s Hidden Heartlands and Dublin). Primary Objectives/Key Responsibilities Environmental Assessments Liaise with Fáilte Ireland Regional teams and relevant external stakeholders in the identification and implementation of environmental requirements (Strategic Environmental Assessment/Appropriate Assessment) Provide advice to Fáilte Ireland colleagues on a range of environmental issues as required Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies relating to environmental sustainability within the tourism sector Undertake all relevant steps in SEA process including SEA monitoring Work closely with and support the Product Development Division in the delivery of strategic objectives Maintain the required documentation for internal and external audits Manage all projects in a timely and efficient manner This role requires travel, with attendance at a significant number of national and regional locations / sites on an annual basis. Carry out all other duties as required and participate as a full member of the Product Development - Activities Team by supporting different work projects, as required, from time to time. Person Specification Fáilte Ireland is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join the Product Development, Activities - Environment & Planning team. The successful candidate will have strong organisational, planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. They will also be self-starter with good leadership skills, with a track record in problem-solving and analytical skills and possess strong inter-personal skills. Experience of the tourism sector and sustainability in tourism development would be advantageous. Essential Criteria In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application form the following: A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in fulfilling similar functions or in a similar role Comprehensive understanding of the SEA Directive and all relevant National legislation & regulation Comprehensive experience of undertaking SEAs for plans and associated monitoring Proven ability to build internal and external relationships A full clean driving licence Qualifications/Mandatory Training A Professional Qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline is essential (Environmental) Desirable Criteria A Project Management qualification An understanding of the tourism industry and related agencies & development organisations at local and national level Key Competencies Problem Solving and Analytical Skills Relationship Management Project Management Data Analysis A panel may be created from which future vacancies may be filled
