Peabody has exciting opportunities available for Housing Support Workers on a full or part time, permanent basis based in Bexhill-on-Sea. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £23,996 per annum. About the role: As our Housing Support Worker you will deliver a high-quality and effective support service, which promotes the independence, wellbeing and inclusion of customers, in accordance with Family Mosaic policies and procedures and the principles of best practice. What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker: Experience of providing support to people with mental health issues either in a volunteering or professional role A commitment to achieving equal opportunities for people with mental health issues A genuine desire to help people with mental health issues connect with their community Kindness, empathy, a positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm Experience of assessment of individuals needs and managing risks Experience of working jointly with other agencies and liaising with statutory organisations Availability to work shift work as part of a rota basis to cover evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins Experience of running groups/activities for people with mental health issues and complex needs Experience of working with people who may display challenging behavior What you can expect to be doing as our Housing Support Worker: Carrying out needs and risk assessments, completing support plans, providing support, and carrying out reviews, in accordance with policies and procedures and the requirements of stakeholders and funders Supporting customers to identify, move into and sustain housing which meets their needs, including supporting customers to bid for properties and report maintenance issues Supporting customers to maximise their income, access benefits and budget appropriately Supporting customers to make full use of community facilities, play an active role in their community and take up cultural, recreational, educational and employment opportunities Supporting customers to maximise their physical and mental health, through liaison with health services and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle Supporting customers to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with their family, friends, carers and other professionals Accurately inputting all client data onto an electronic monitoring system and ensure records are maintained to evidence key performance targets, and comply with commissioner requirements Working with other professionals and support coordinators to manage risks to customers, staff and the community Liaising promptly with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare and risk concerns in accordance with Family Mosaic policy Undertaking regular health & safety checks as detailed in policies and procedures including fire drills and ensure these are recorded Designing and facilitating group work and individual activities to maximise customers independent living skills and complete monthly reports on the outcomes from these Closing date: 5pm, Monday 19th September 2022 If you feel have the skills and experience to become our Housing Support Worker, please click apply now!
