Lovelace Medical Group is now hiring an Infectious Disease Physician in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary: The position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm to include 3 days of outpatient clinic and 2 days of hospital IP duties with office and general hospital ID consultation services using in-person and/or tele-video services. Practice includes an active outpatient (OPAT) infusion clinic; the group is also involved in infection control and antibiotic stewardship. Our practice works in close collaboration with TriCore Labs microbiology section. Responsibilities for this position would be 100% ID. Workload and call are very reasonable as we strive hard to provide you with a work-life balance and a rewarding life style.

Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) The OPAT program s mission is to reduce 30 day readmission rates for patients receiving intravenous antibiotics by improving the overall quality of care these patients receive. Various types of infection are managed including skin and soft tissue infections, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, brain abscesses, liver abscesses, and others. With the assistance of an ID trained pharmacist and Nurse Practitioner, the patients are managed for complications related to their current infections.

Provide clinical care to patients in accordance to regulations to include but not limited to obtaining patient history, ordering labs, diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.

-Uphold excellent bedside manners and ability to create a great patient experience.

-Document patient care services by charting in-patient and outpatient department records in EPIC.
-Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
-Adhere and have knowledge of laws to internal medicine, including HIPPA.
-Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinated care.

Position Requirements: Must be board certified in Internal Medicine. • Must be board certified/board eligible in Infectious Disease. • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. • Clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient settings within a hospital environment. • Clinical experience with monitoring IV antibiotic therapy administration and monitoring.
