PMP Utilities, part of M Group Services, is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, based from our deport in Burnley and working on projects throughout the UK. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of our site based Operational team who are responsible for the delivery of specialist engineering projects predominantly operating within the water and wastewater industry. PMP Utilities is a member of the Water Division of M Group Services. PMP specialise in the design and manufacture of one-off bespoke engineering solutions, rope access techniques, rotating equipment, Victorian and modern industry plant and machinery, internal and external pipe repairs, large diameter valves and pipework fittings, treatment plants, Raw and Potable waste, all predominantly within the Water Industry. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who can lead teams, fault find, carry out repairs, read and work from technical drawings and provide the delivery of one-off bespoke mechanical engineering solutions to clients across the sector. As a PMP Mechanical Maintenance Engineer your duties & responsibilities will include: You will be PMP s site liaison to clients, understanding their needs, investigate root cause of failure and communicate potential solutions Active supervision and site management, execution of all planned work onsite, safely, on time and on budget To always promote and enforce safe working practices without prejudice. As a Mechanical Engineer you will have an inventive mind, be able to assess mechanical failures on any given industry asset and develop solutions/methods of repair The role will suit someone with a creative mindset and who can think outside of the box, making safe, decisive and commercially viable business decisions Liaise back at head office with Team Leaders and Project Managers, to help with quotations, procurement of materials/plant/equipment and any design or manufacture requirements. Advise SHEQ team and Project Managers on RAMS production and programmes of work. The Mechanical Engineer role is 90% based out on site with a team, working on all water industry assets from reservoirs to tap and from toilet to river Upon completion of some projects the Mechanical Engineer may be required to provide a written summary of all work completed along with photographic evidence to help with the development of case studies, job completion reports, project packs etc. Skills & Knowledge Requirements: You'll be a time served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer and possess a recognised/relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification eg; 4 year modern apprenticeship, relevant level NVQ/BTEC Recognition will be given to industry experience and knowledge, however we open to applications from other industries Proven track record and experience of working in the Water Industry is desirable however training can be provided for the right candidate Proven ability to work in and lead engineering teams safely and effectively Ability to think outside the box to develop intelligent, engineered and bespoke solutions for our clients Willing to work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces Full driving license required What s in it for you?
