Burness Paull is one of Scotland's premier law firms with offices of equal size and strength across Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, serving clients in Scotland, the UK and globally. We are looking to recruit a Paralegal for Commercial Property in our Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will work alongside Richard Rennie, Head of Property and Infrastructure, and the other Edinburgh Property partners in our Scottish Real Estate team. Key duties and responsibilities include: Project Management; Managing/co-ordinating data rooms; Creating title packs and sending these out to other solicitors, ordering searches; Creating checklists for transactions and assisting fee earners in managing checklists and ultimately completions of transactions; Planning for key stages of transactions and involvement of appropriate fee earners and support staff. Support/leading low value real estate finance deals; Dealing with the grant of servitude and wayleaves; Utility Agreements; Form completion (LBTT, registration forms). Lease management: Preparing and serving notices/intimations (possibly liaising with the DR team); Portfolio lease management (eg. LSI); Dealing with Licences for Works; Contract for lease implementation; Consents to assign; Consents to sub-lease; Rent Review Agreements. Support with general contract implementation and completions including bible preparation; Identifying and creating more efficient processes for certain set transactions. It is preferable that candidates have 2 years plus experience in a paralegal role. The successful candidate will have excellent administration skills as well as strong commercial awareness.
