As we work towards our mission and goals, UKAEA has devised values (Innovative, Committed, Trusted and Collaborative) that capture the spirit of how we work.Job DescriptionWho are we looking for?If you have a high level of numeracy, accuracy and excel skills and a keen interest in pay and reward policies ideally with experience working within a People/HR function this could be a great opportunity for you.This role has been created to support the Pay and Reward Specialist in providing a proactive pay and reward service to UKAEA. Accountabilities will include involvement in the annual pay review, advising on pay policy, underpinning future changes to the pay and reward framework and promoting awareness of UKAEA's benefits including discount scheme, employee benefits portal etc.This role is a 1-year Fixed Term Appointment.Key Responsibilities include:- Produce detailed pay reports using our business Finance and HR systems (U4BW)/benchmark tool).- Prepare MS Excel models for implementation of a pay award and other initiatives. - Provide first level advice and guidance on the application of UKAEA's pay policies.- Contribute to discussions about future overall pay policy to obtain and format relevant pay reports and will provide first drafts on smaller scale recommendations e.g., apprentice pay.QualificationsKey Experience and Qualifications:- Previous experience working within a Pay and Reward or People/HR Operational function.- Previous experience of preparing pay data reports and manipulate with data Proven Excel skills.- Ability to explain numerical data to others verbally and in writing.- Very good attention to detail.- Ability to interpret policies.- A Level Mathematics and preferably a degree in a numerate subject or equivalent experience working with numerical data.Desirable Experience and Qualifications:- Previous experience of preparing specific pay data reports e.g., gender pay gap.- Interest in the 'human' aspect of pay and reward and what motivates people at work. - CIPD level 3/5.Additional InformationWhat we offerOur comprehensive benefits package includes a vibrant culture committed to being fully inclusive, an Employee Assistance Programme and trained Mental Health First Aiders, Flexible working options including family friendly policies, Emergency paid leave, Generous annual leave allowance (30.5 days) increased with length of service, wide range of career development opportunities, outstanding defined benefit pension scheme; Corporate bonus scheme and a Relocation allowance (if eligible).We welcome applications from under-represented groups, particularly from individuals from black and other ethnic minority backgrounds, including nationality and citizenship, people with disabilities and women.
