My client, a leading Hydraulics company based in Hertfordshire, are currently looking for a Purchasing Co-Ordinator to join their busy team on a full time and permanent basis. The role will be based from the companies office in Hemel Hempstead and would suit someone with purchasing experience looking to take the next step in their career and work for a great company. The role details are as follows: You will be the main purchasing contact in the company with the potential to grow as the department and business expands. Reporting to the Commercial Director and working closely with the Internal Sales, Production and Warehouse Managers we are looking for the right person to not only assist but also to have a positive input influencing and introducing new policies and procedures as my client develops to ensure the smooth running of their purchasing department. In brief, the role will consist of the following duties: Daily tasks include: Supplier Liaison Order Input - processing; including price checking at point of order Updating live system information from current quotes and supplier notifications Booking in stock whilst identifying, investigating, and rectifying any discrepancies that may arise Managing the purchasing pipeline to include internal order control, monitoring, and progressing outstanding orders plus identifying internal orders that are complete and ready to release to locations Support the sales team with tendering costs for new and existing business. Arranging supplier quality returns as required. Investigate any price related invoice queries on behalf of Finance Department Liaison with our 4 locations to meet and fulfil their stock requirements General office duties to include filing and answering telephone Long Term - involvement in the negotiation of pricing, quality, and delivery of preferred suppliers Applicants must: Be literate, clear, and concise with a logical thought process Possess a positive, can-do attitude Can be assertive, where necessary Possess excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail Have an excellent command of the English language and able to communicate across a broad spectrum of individuals Be versatile and able to multi-task Good command of Microsoft Office to include word and excel or similar applications and manipulation of databases Prior experience an advantage with suppliers/customers but not essential for right candidate Full training for all aspects of the role and our systems will be provided Days of Work: Monday to Friday Days/Hours of work: 5 Days a week 7 hours per day - flexible.
