As a Return To Work (RTW) Quality Inspector, you will support your assigned production value stream(S) through the generation of incoming inspection reports detailing any identified defects. You will be expected to use various measuring equipment, depending on product type, to validate the product incoming condition. On the job training will be provided to develop the required skills / competency to discharge the role. Essential Responsibilities EHS - Promote a safe workplace environment without risk to health and minimising the impact to the environment. Ensure that all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and that all accidents and incidents are reported Clocking and Booking - Ensure that all required clockings (time and attendance) and bookings (job costings) are made in an accurate and timely manner Housekeeping - Ensure that workstations are kept clean and maintained, with all tools and equipment stored correctly. Uphold a clear desk policy Quality - Ensure that all Quality standards, processes and procedures are complied with. All work is completed with care and attention minimising wastage Cost Management - Support cost reduction and management initiatives through reducing unnecessary expenditure Knowledge & Skills - Keep knowledge and training up to date for necessary operations to the best of your knowledge and belief to achieve specification and acceptable standards for your role. Team Working - Must actively participate in team meetings and be prepared to share knowledge, coach and mentor trainees when required, be willing to be trained in other areas Any other reasonable duties that fall in line with the level of the role Role Specific Will include but is not limited to: Undertake the inspection and generation of detailed reports of metallic and composite aerospace parts against design data (2D drawings, 3D model, etc..), inspection plans, and customers supporting documentation Use various measuring equipment to ensure parts are inspected to the correct requirements Accurately Compile paperwork to identify the inward condition of Return to work (RTW) products Working with multifunctional departments Raising & completing of RTW Inspection reports to aide MRB (Material Review Board) to generate bespoke repair schemes. Work with value stream management to prioritise parts for inspection in line with the production plan Achieve a timely response to set targets Support internal audits Record and / report non-confirming product to Quality Engineers Assist in determining and documenting work instructions, visual aids and inspection criteria Requirements NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, or time-served apprenticeship in allied trades Previous experience of using measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and shadow graphs Able to read and understand engineering/design drawings, specifications, and part drawings (accessed via PC) Excellent report writing skills PC literate including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel Proven good communication skills A pro-active attitude Desire to learn and evolve with the business There are certain aspects of this role that require mechanical / manual lifting of parts so some lifting will be required, and you must be capable of undertaking activities with appropriate assistance if required. Desirable Previous experience and/or understanding of MRP systems Previous experience of EN9100, Part 21G Regulatory and NADCAP audits Understanding of manufacturing processes utilised at Hamble Security Clearance Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
