Role Details SRE Manager Permanent Salary - £115,000 + benefits RemoteThe company Founded in 2017 by a team of experienced technology professionals who recognised an opportunity to provide highly secure enterprise data platforms to large organisations. Role The SRE Manager will be accountable and responsible for the engineering and operations of the platform(s) in the AWS cloud This opportunity offers the chance to work on interesting challenges and projects, with what are truly cutting-edge technologies across Software engineering, infrastructure as a code, data engineering, security and end to end platform performance. We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for managing and leading the SRE team on public cloud (AWS) in UK. You will manage and lead a team of multiple skillsets that include SREs including DevOps engineers, Data engineers, Software engineers, QA engineers and Architects. The role offers you the opportunity to work on greenfield projects, develop solutions and make a true impactResponsibilities Own and Maintain platform engineering roadmap and evolve it strategically with inputs from internal and external stakeholders. The roadmap will potentially have elements from software, data and platform engineering. Develop solutions on AWS and Kubernetes platforms, combining Data Engineering, DevOps and Security together Design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems, and ensure permanent closure of incidents Engage with the platform team throughout the feature (software/data/infrastructure) engineering life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives Design self-healing and resiliency patterns Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions Build, manage, develop and motivate a team of employees, including Conduct regular 1:1s to ensure your direct reports are motivated, happy, engaged and provided with continuous feedback and career development Task and performance management of your team Interview, hire, onboard and train new employees Motivate your employees individually and as a team, ensuring alignment and engagementQualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline 7+ years of experience including hands-on DevOps, software engineering or networking experience Proven experience in building, leading and developing teams Expertise in at least AWS and/or Python and Kubernetes based solutions Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. Kubernetes, routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks) Excellent problem solving, debugging and trouble shooting skillsGCS Computer Recruitment Services is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
